Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Youusf Raza Gilani grieved over the plight of once tourist hotspot Swat, and called upon people of the area to face the challenge.
Addressing the elders at Khawazakhela on Wendnesday, Gilani hailed the locals for giving refuge to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and extending huge sacrifices during the war on terror. 'The extremists wanted to take over Swat; they were pursuing a foreign agenda', the PM maintained.
He said everybody was taken on board regarding the Swat operation. The PM said the government managed to rehabilitate 2.5 million IDPs, and assured the people of Swat of all-out support in this hour of need. He said that food goods would be sent to many far-flung flood-ravaged areas after the weather turns better.
