Punjab CM Shahbaz Rebuffs Dr. Aafia's VerdictPakistan News: Shahbaz Sharif called the verdict of American court on Aafia's case a condemnable act.

Talking to the parliamentarians in Lahore, he said that this decision would create differences and distances between the two nations, dubbed as allies in the war against terrorism. He said that this verdict has unleashed the true face of America, a so-called champion of human rights. He said that reaction of Pakistan nation on this injustice was very much natural. International community should take a serious notice of it, he urged.

Parliamentarians on Friday have asserted to continue efforts for Aafia's repatriation. Parliamentarians from different political affiliations have vowed that now the government would not remain silent and continue with its efforts for Aafia's return.





Sindh Parliamentarians said that penalizing a woman without evidence was devoid of basic justice. Talking about Dr. Aafia's penalty, members of Sindh Assembly said that despite her claims for being champion of Human Rights, America has penalized a weak and innocent woman without concrete evidence.

Severe reaction on Aafia's verdict was witnessed in the Senate session today. The Senators said that US has once again unveiled her enmity towards Islam. JUI Senator Talha Mehmood opined that the government could have brought back Aafia within three days if it wanted but the government did not show any interest in the matter. Professor Khurshid Ahmed said that that America had to pay the price for the crime. Raja Zafar-ul-Haq demanded PM to use influence to get Aafia repatriated.
