India, Pakistan Agree on Joint Inspection of Rivers


India allowed Pakistan to visit and inspect the power plants it is constructing on the River Indus in August on Friday.

The two-day round of talks between the water commissioners of India and Pakistan have been concluded today. Jamaat Ali Shah, Pakistans Water Commissioner, has said that India is ready for a joint inspection, while India denied it. Both the countries agreed to install the telemetry system and a joint inspection of River Ravi. During the talks, Pakistan took up the issue of polluting on part of India of Hadiara, Kasur, Dareen and River Jhelum.
