Section 144 Imposed; Processions Banned On Mall RoadLahore Pakistan News: On the directive of Punjab Home Department, District Administration has imposed section 144 to ban all processions, gatherings and rallies on Mall Road and surrounding areas. After the arrest of lawyers, police had asked the Home Department to impose section 144 to avoid any possible reactions from lawyers. Taking notice, the Home Department Punjab asked the District Administration to ensure imposition of section 144 to maintain law and order in the city. Notification has been issued in this regard. Gatherings and violent speeches are also banned in Session Court, Aewan-e-Adal and District Courts. Earlier, lawyers of the Lahore District Bar attacked office of the Chief Justice Lahore High Court to press their demand for the transfer of a Session Judge Zawar Ahmed from Lahore.





The lawyers shattered windowpanes of the office and staged protest demonstration in the court premises afterwards. Police arrested District Bar President and other lawyers after the incident.
