Fans turn violent after defeat in ice-hockey match

The ice-hockey fans turned violent in Vancouver after the Vancouver Canucks lost the Stanley Cup final to the Boston Bruins.

Thousands of people jammed into the heart of downtown in the hopes of celebrating a Vancouver win but after the Bruins emerged with a 4-0 victory to claim the Cup the post-game scene brought back memories of a riot that erupted when Vancouver also lost the Stanley Cup to the New York Rangers in 1994.

The police were called to control the situation, but violent fans put on fire many buildings and cars.
