suicide blast Suicide Bomb Blast In Peshawar, TodayPakistan News Peshawar: At least 4 people including FC Commandant Safwat Ghayoor have been killed and 11 others sustained injuries in a suicide blast near the FC office in Sadar, Peshawar on Wednesday. The suicide bomber struck his explosive laden motorcycle with the vehicle of the commandant while he was coming out from FC Headquarters.

Safwat Ghayoor was a brave police office who played key role in the fight against militants during his various postings. He also remained CCPO Peshawar before his present posting as FC commandant. Safwat Ghayoor was brother-in-law of PPP-S leader Aftab Khan Sherpao.

According to sources, IG FC has also been injured in the explosion. As many as two cars have been set ablaze. According to bomb disposal squad, 8 kg explosive material was used in the blast. It is reported Interior Minister Rehman Malik was due to come to FC office to give a briefing to the media on flood relief activities. Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and a relief and rescue operation is underway.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that all who oppose terrorism are on the hit list of terrorists. He said that terrorists cannot demoralize us and war against terrorism will be continued till the complete eradication of all terrorists from the country.

PM Gilani has ordered inquiry into killing of FC Commandant in Peshawar.
