President Asif Ali Zardari, PM Gilani Today Meeting

Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday called on President Asif Ali Zardari here at the Presidency.


Rifts unearthed recently between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on the issues related to coalition government in Sindh were topped the meeting's agenda, it was reported.


The PM also briefed the President over the working of federal government and other issues related to ruling coalition, the channel added.





Later, the President and the PM jointly chaired the meeting of PPP's core committee held here at Presidency to discuss recent political developments.


Party's central leadership, few federal ministers and the members of President Zardari's kitchen cabinet attended the meeting.


Issues related to improving relations among the state's institutions, recent political developments in the wake of Supreme Court's verdict against National Reconciliation Ordinance, appointments of judges in apex courts, recent spree of target killings in Karachi and the rifts with junior coalition partner Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were discussed in the meeting, the channel added.
