Pakistan news: Thal city and dozen of adjacent villages have drowned in the merciless and unprecedented floods that inflicted massive devastation across the country. Thousands of people have been displaced while as many wiped out. At least 10 people were drowned to death including three children and as many women. Jacobabad is being evacuated after new warning of heavy monsoon rains and surging flood waters.
It is feared that water from the flooded eastern rivers Sutlej, Chenab, Ravi and Jhelum can combine with the fresh floodwaters in the Indus to make the second wave in Sindh as big as the first one. The second flood wave in Indus River is currently passing Taunsa and it may get as large as the first one when it reaches Sukkur over the weekend.
Villages of Jacobabad including Mubarakpur, Mirpur, Dalmad, Karimabaksh and other adjoining low lying areas have submerged in water. Residents are facing great hardships as petroleum products and food items are getting scarce with each passing moment. Failing to get adequate help from district administration and Pakistan army, stranded people have started to move to safe areas on self-help basis.
