Tori embankment at River Indus breached inundating adjoining villages, whereas people filled up some breaches being emerged at a bund near Baddani on self-help basis. Floodwater is moving towards Ghouspur and Dari cities. Flood water entered Bhong area of Sadiqabad making the locals to move to safer places. Flood tide in River Chenab broke the Makhan Bela and Shukrani bund in Uch Sharif submerging 30 villages and thousands of acres of land while scores of people stranded. Dozens of families trapped as flood torrent hit Jug Bhattian, Jhagian and Thada Bhangsi. The people took shelter at rooftops and trees. According to Irrigation Department Sindh, an exceptionally high flood hit Guddu and Sukkur Barrage. The water inflow in Guddu is 11, 38,000 cusecs while the level of Sukkur Barrage rose to threatening level. Inflow in Sukkur Barrage is 10, 75000 cusecs while outflow is 10, 66, 000. Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 personnel managed to rescue six people out of 36 who drowned when a boat capsized in Jampur besides fished out two dead bodies. Another two boats are sent for rescue activities in the abovesaid areas.
