Pakistan News Karachi: Tension deepens in port city of Karachi as incidents of target killings continue unabated, two more people were killed, bringing the death toll to 92 since Monday.
The violence was sparked with the killing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement MPA Raza Haider in a mosque, on Monday evening. His death triggered violence across the major towns of Karachi. The latest riots were reported in Metropol, Kasba Colony, Orangi Town, Site and Banaras. Incidents of firing and arson were also reported from different parts of the city.
Pakistan Peoples Party activist who was injured on August 4 succumbed to injuries at Bahadur Shah Hospital. At least five people were injured in the in two separate firing incidents reported in Korangi Zia Colony and Ranchor Line. Large contingents of Rangers and Police were deployed in the area of Site after exchange of firing between two groups was reported. Police and Rangers have apprehended as many as 15 suspected terrorists from different parts of the city.
It is pertinent to mention that despite a military operation looming in the anarchy-ridden Karachi; however life started returning to normalcy.
