No Operation Against Civilians in Kala Dhaka: Rehman Malik

SLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik Friday assured National Assembly that no innocent citizen shall suffer during action against outlaws in Kala Dhaka, a tribal area adjacent to Hazara region. “This operation is against the proclaimed offenders, terrorists are hiding there after Swat operation and some hardened criminals,” he said in response to a point of order by Laik Muhammad Khan.





The member had mentioned to assurance of NWFP Chief Minister that operation will be stopped and those arrested shall be released. But, the commitment was yet to be fulfilled.


Rehman Malik in response, mentioned to 10 to 15 groups operating there who comprised proclaimed offenders as well as the terrorists who escaped the Swat, Malakand and Waziristan operation. “Similarly, certain hardened criminals are also hiding over there and the operation is against them.”


“I assure you that action is against the criminals and terrorists only and no innocent person shall be affected,” he said.


The minister further assured that if any innocent individual is affected or suffer any losses, we assure to compensate it.


He said a JUI delegation has also gone to the area to get first hand knowledge of the situation.
