Pakistan News: Two mainstream political parties PML-N and PML-Q staged a walk out of the National Assembly to register protest against promulgation of NAB Ordinance,? reported on Tuesday. Taking a tough stance against the covert promulgation, members of both the parties staged a walk out.
Zahid Hamid opined that through the Ordinance the petitions of one province have been shifted to another thereby shifting the powers from the Supreme Court to the Federal Government. Raza Hayat Hiraj maintained that Babar Awan is administrating sweet pills to the Assembly, while Khawaja Asif of PML-N said that accountability is must for all but NAB's horizon be widened.
On the other hand, Federal Law Minister Babar Awan has said that the Prime Minister knew about the issuance of amended NAB ordinance-2010 beforehand. Addressing the National Assembly, Babar said that the summary for the issuance of amended NAB ordinance had been sent to the Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister on Sept 6.
He added that on September 7, the PM sent his advice for the issuance of ordinance to the President. On September 8, that summary had been signed by the President and the next day it returned back to the Ministry of Law. "The Law Ministry issued an official gazette notification for the issuance of amended NAB ordinance-2010," the Federal Law Minister added.
Babar asserted that the government did not believe in vindictive politics and it was not hindering the Ordinance.
