The continued strike of the flourmills caused shortage of the commodity in the Sunday Bazaars of Lahore and Multan today.
The non-availability of flour made the public suffer acutely, while a huge flour crisis has been emerged across the province as the mills have been shut for the last 4 days consecutively.
People complained that the flour is being sold in black due to the scarcity and the black sheep are capitalizing on the situation. The APFMA announced a protest strike against the hampering in the flow of wheat by Sindh food department from Punjab. The majority of the flour mills remained shut in southern Punjab and Sindh against the hurdles in supply to Sindh and export of the commodity to Afghanistan. APFMA spokesman warned that the strike would continue till the acceptance of their demands. The flour mills in Balochistan are not taking part in the strike since the flour mill owners believe that ample amount of supply is available in the country. The flour mills owner further stated that flour is easily available across the province.
