Asif Ali Zardari Felicitates Nation on Passage of 18th Amendment Bill

President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated the nation, all political parties and democratic forces on the unanimous approval of 18th Amendment Bill by the National Assembly on Thursday.

The National Assembly, in a very charged atmosphere, Thursday unanimously passed the historic Constitution (18th amendment) Bill, 2010, aimed at restoring the 1973 Constitution to its original form.

The President in a message hailed the approval of 18th Amendment Bill by the Lower House of Parliament as vindication of struggle for democracy and hoped that Senate (the Upper House of Parliament) will also adopt the bill very soon.

President Zardari said the passage of 18th Amendment Bill by the National Assembly showed the political wisdom, maturity, patriotism and commitment to democracy of all political parties and leaders.
